Filo & Peri need no introduction as the American pair has released quite a few very popular records. Here is a brand new remix of a record out now on vandit called Ordinary Moment.
It's a single mix exclusive to vonyc.com, which is the mighty Paul van Dyk’s online music store where you can find his latest records up for grabs. The original record released back in the summer with the vocal sprinkling of Kethleen Fisher was a finely crafted piece of trance worthy of being released on Vandit.
:: Ordinary Moment (Breakfast & Big Mike Mix)
Who are Breakfast and who is Big Mike? I'm not entirely sure to be honest but they have put together this new mix for Filo & Peri's last trance outing, there new material seem to me to have taken on a more house vibe. Enough small talk what does this mix bring to the table.
For a start it has a very deep firm beat and from the start builds up the layers with wave like splashes of sound and a gradual building bass hum that comes from the background right into the foreground. The introduction here is good and when the beat kicks out the vocals get to work with the bass hum fading but still playing in the background. The bass riffs change with the mood of the vocals to create an uplifting break that builds up the main hook in the track, a dreamy electronic riff that fades out when the vocal comes back into the record. It is uplifting in a way but very dreamy and chilled in another. The builds bring back the sound and melody then thumps the beat back in after a drum roll before hand. The dreamy electronic riff in here is nicely done and reminds me of some of Andy Moor’s style of records with the vocal. Good beat and in all enough things going on to keep your interest in the track.
Conclusion:
The vocals are soothing, the track has an excellent flow and mood of the mix is very relaxing, all in all a very good mix that should be part of your collection and one that is very much part of mine. Good stuff.
