Having been supported on Kiss100 by Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo’s Metrodance radio show, Alian & Soner are both accomplished producers. Here is their latest EP on Morrison Recordings, read on for the full review!
“Kenny’s Mix” wastes no time getting down to business, starting off with a hard-hitting 4/4 drum kick, slamming percussion, and a fat bassline. The first break comes at around the two minute mark which makes room for more percussion and a driving, techy synth. As the track progresses, some percussion is stripped down while some tripped out vocal bits are mixed in, creating a hypnotic buildup that lasts for about a minute or so. Around the four minute mark, there are some synths mixed in which compliment the rest of the track nicely. The vocal chopping and carefully orchestrated synths continue to build the track until the outro.
“TV Walk” has a much more meaty kick to it and is also about a minute longer than “Kenny’s Mix.” Percussion is slowly layered during the intro until the first break at the two minute mark which makes way for some spacey synths and distant, tripped out vocals. Around the three minute mark, a nice bassline is mixed in which is used to build the track until the second break around the four minute mark. The synths and blippy melody are the center of attention during this hypnotic break which lasts for about a minute. The drum kicks back in at the 5 minute mark and slowly builds the track back up. The result of this build up is a very danceable groove that is made up of trippy synths, distant vocals, and an awesome blippy melody that fits perfectly in the track. At the seven minute mark, the outro begins and continues for the next two and a half minutes.
Conclusion:
Both tracks have stellar production value and a groovy, progressive feel that would fit well at almost any point in a set. The chunky percussion and stimulating melodies really make these two tracks stand out. Go pick em up!!!
