Voting for this years Hard Dance Awards has now opened. With plenty of categories to vote in its bigger and better than ever.
The harder side of dance music has its very own awards and this years voting for the 2006 Hard Dance Awards is well underway. It's all about the music though as without the people that produce, spin and promote it awards like this would never happen. It's been a very good year for the harder style with a good influx of new faces on the scene and a fresh helping of new and creative music.
This years awards have fifteen categories to vote in with a new award for this year being a Lifetime Achievement award which is the only award not being opened to the public. That will be decided by a select few within hard dance music circles. With the hard dance sound not being around for that long, in terms of other musical styles I'm intrigued who they will select for that award.
All the other awards are open to everybody. Voting can be done on the Hard Dance Awards website and through submitting your votes you will automatically enter yourself into a competition to win a state of the art Pioneer CJD1000 mk3.
The categories for you to get your votes in are as follows:
Best DJ Live PA Best Producer Best Track Best Remixer Best Label Best Small Club Best Large Club Best One Off Event Best International Event Best Resident Best Compilation Best Website Best Newcomer
There is no rush to get your votes in so have a think about and submit who you want to grab an award this year.
The ceremony for the awards is not until February next year and will be held at the Brixton Academy in London. You can expect over 4500 dance fans flocking to the venue that does not normally hold hard dance events. Tickets can already be purchased from ticketweb so order early to avoid disappointment. You can expect the mighty Lisa Lashes, Tidy Boys Anne Savage and Rob Tissera to be handing out the awards.
It's refreshing to see an awards ceremony being held after the year in question I have to say. It does really reflect the whole of this year and represents 2006's movers and shakers in the hard dance world.
For more information on the awards and lots of other very useful information including comments from some of Hard Dance Music's biggest names on what they have liked about 2006 then visit the website.
