The Face is back with a sizzling new release on Def Mix Music. David Morales needs no introduction as he offers a very big helping of peak time house powered by vocals fro Nicki Richards.
David Morales is a very big name in House music and has been for quite a few years. The Face first saw light with the massive Needin U release back in 1998 and its rework that came out in 2001. One of my favourite piano riffs of all time I would have to say. Well, The face is back with Keep It Coming which, features the vocal sprinkling of Nicki Richards. Is it a worthy successor to the previous work? Let’s find out.
Release Date: Out Now!
A1: Def Club Mix B1: Instrumental
Let’s get stuck right into this. The record gets started with a backing noise added by sprinklings of Latin sounding percussion. A vocal cry of Keep it coming starts to pipe in before the beat kicks into gear and the vocal gets telling the storey. The beat is a solid soft typical house beat but the background groove that slides in adds a good funk element to the track. The vocals go well with the groove that’s been created here. The groove is a nice blend of keyboard created magic and as the track gets into the meat the sound that stated off the track comes back as its cuts out with just the vocal to be heard. The beat comes back to a very catchy vocal sequence each time. Nothing seems out of place in here. The rolling drum samples and keyboard grooves give it a funky edge and one to really go down well on a big soundsystem.
For those who don’t like vocals or just want a nice dub then the instrumental on here should suit your needs, it’s exactly the same as the vocal mix by not a vocal to be heard.
Conclusion:
This is a very welcome addition to the house music genre and a very worthy record to be wearing The Face name, excellent vocals from Nicki Richards and a remarkably produced piece of music from Mr Morales. Big room house fans will really like this one.
