The first release from a brand new label set up by Steve Allen comes in the form of a two track single by Northern project. Expect some rather furious paced trance in here.
A little introduction on the artists before we start, they are a combination of Norwegian DJ Dinamic and a guy from near my hometown Sheffield called Pegan. Between them they share a solid understanding of what music they want to produce and this is by no means the last track you will hear from them. Let’s see if they are off to a good start with this tasty looking pair of bangers.
A1: Euclidean Axiom B1: Touched By An Angel
Euclidean Axiom
Lets start off with the track I struggle to pronounce or at least struggle when attempting to. The start of the record lets you know what to expect further on by kicking off with a hard deeply edge beat. The build up is very aggressive and complemented by a sharp sounding kick before the track starts to build. The melody feeds in from the foreground and makes itself known by bring itself into the foreground. It’s an uplifting build that’s packed with energy and builds up to a spacious break where all the beats and kicks cut back. One very peaceful sequence kicks in building the backing sound. Don’t get to chilled out the melody builds in once again and comes back with a bang. Uplifting and Euphoric is what this track tries to achieve and I think it does it with a good dose of banging trance beats and uplifting sythns.
Touched By An Angel
Moving onto to the second offering of this banging pair of trancers here we have a track called Touched by an Angel. It’s got a tougher beat to it but starts off at a pretty thumping pace with well sounding percussion that’s good feel to it. The riff drops in with background changes giving the riff changes that uplifting feel. The sounds cut back altogether as a deeper chunkier riff builds up with good use of sounds swirling in and out. The tone of the riff changes as the record builds back up to the beat. It gets morphed into a different sound with the same changes staying the same as the beat comes back in and the track gets into full flow. Good build on this record and complemented after by a thumping uplifting melody.
Conclusion:
I’d say we have a good pair of records with this debut release on Diverted Recordings. Uplifting and rather beaty which should suit many a trance fan who likes it a bit meaty with lots of sound going on in their tracks.
