Toolroom, one of the UK's most popular house labels, are presenting a new release from MTV and Lucien Foort. Read on to check it out.
After their succesful release 'Bleeep!' Martijn ten Velden and Lucien Foort return with 'Bassification' on the Toolroom Trax imprint with home made remixes.
Let's see how these tracks are.
A1: Martijn ten Velden & Lucien Foort - Bassification (Original Mix)
This track begins with a fat groove, building up to a bassline which can be defined as raw and grindin'. With this bassline the track gets a dark atmosphere, but with the short synth hook which is introduced later on this dark atmosphere is being dropped.
Just like in 'Bleeep!' these synth notes carry the track to the end, but does not bore at all. Smart programming that leads to a quality track like this.
B1: Martijn ten Velden & Lucien Foort - Bassification (Martijn ten Velden Remix)
Martijn ten Velden is beginning this track with a clipping beat which just have to wake up the crowd. This slowly changes to a 'normal' thick beat, but then a heavier-then-heavy oversized bassline comes into the track. Dancefloor madness guaranteed! With a minimal input of the original synth notes the track gets a fresh feeling, but still very raw.
Very creative and surprising track from the Dutch Englishman.
B2: Martijn ten Velden & Lucien Foort - Bassification (Lucien Foort Remix)
Then it's time for a whole other sound as Lucien Foort puts a lot of groove in his remix.
So many use of the synths and the well-known (very women-friendly) groove beats.
Although the track is not the most creative it still will have success on the dancefloor as it has '100% booty shake guarantee'.
Conclusion:
Bassification is a top release which has the potential to become a hit of the same size as 'Bleeep!'. Especially with the mindblowing Martijn ten Velden remix on the flip.
