Like a bit of the hard stuff with a diverse range of mixes and some good bad language to boot? If you do then you will like the latest release from Doof Doof Traxx.
This forthcoming release on Doof Doof Traxx is a collaboration between German producer Jendrik De Ruvo and Danish DJ Flarup. They have created a blend of tough beats and seriously offensive language for those who like their music aggressive and down right nasty.
:: Original Mix :: Alpha Bass Vs. Ben Passion Remix
Think of your favourite swearwords and then listen to this record to see how many you forgot to mention. The lyrics within the two mixes here are not ones to stand up in church and scream at the vicar, although if you do such things you have obviously not read the sign on the way into the building, on with the music anyway.
You have two different styles here. The original is a tough funky progressive affair with a bassline that certainly suits my taste. The remix is a conventional piece of hardstyle with the banging factor turned up. That’s pretty good in my opinion as it really does give you two very different tracks to slide into which ever style you want to play.
The original is for me a deep aggressive house track with and kick that leads from the bass and grits itself along the track. I would say its a little funky the way it sounds to me. I'm not sure why but the sound reminded me the chemical brothers, must have been the sound in parts similar. The breaks in it are really just a swearathon. They tell the title of the song in a sexual nature describing what a male would do to a willing (of course) female in very explicit nature. This is possibly a track to put on when you bring that first date back to your house for a drink maybe? If she's as dirty as the vocal in this track you would be quid’s in. The track is excellent in my opinion, might go on a bit with the same string but its good and dose not get boring with its subtle changes. This one is crying out for a dub really if only for the reason I can play it without the neighbours thinking I'm an arsehole polluting their children with bad language but I'm sure this is nothing they don’t hear in school anyway.
The remix is a world apart from the original. Some remixes take an original and edit it, change it a little or put their trademark sound on it. This remix rips out the dirty vocals and inputs them in to Hardstyle sound, lots of stabbing beats and kick drums to be found here. It's a hard house tinted track of hardstyle with the flow of which behind a juicier mix rather than the stop start nature that some hardstyle tracks posses. Banging could be the word for the build up on this mix, banging with not much sign of the swearing until a break when the bad language unleashes itself. Big synth leads in here with the beat banging away. The changes in the leads are complemented by a stuttering beat and big hi pitch sirens change into sutle little melodies. hardstyle is not a sound I hear that much of so comparision with others would not be my speciality but this one sticks to the recipie of the style with a good measure of swearing to boot.
Conclusion:
This is a good outing on Doof Doof here. They are regarded for bringing some top notch music of the harder varity and they bring some more with this release. The hardstyle mix by Alpha Bass and Ben Passion is decent enough although not quite my taste. The original is bang on though and just has a good vibe about it for me. Allthough I quite would enjoy a dub of it just to not offend anyone who thinks bad language is never appropriate. Then again its not me saying it so crank up the volume!
