The winter music conference is nearly upon us and as some people say its existence is dated in this new age of music distribution the event grows ever popular. This year’s anthem comes from house artists Peven Everett and Quentin Harris.
It might be winter in many parts of the world with cold frosty nights and sunny chilly days getting people to think if Global Warming really is that much of a problem after all but over in there is none of that. It's not long until summer for all of us shivering in the cold and traditionally the Winter Music Conference in Miami has been a place where the big important people in Dance music go to promote and party their music and get a taste of early summer.
United Records are very proud to present the Winter Music Conference Anthem in a joint effort by their in house artists Peven Everett and Quentin Harris with a track called 'Put Your Back Into It'. Two very soulful vocal house records with groovy baselines and a sound perfect for sitting by the beach sipping something alcoholic and admiring the lovely ladies walking past. Weather this is the official anthem for the Conference I don't honestly know but it’s a good record to get you in the mood for it.
Who are the guys responsible for this anthem you may wonder? Well, wonder no more:
PEVEN EVERETT Peven is a producer, writer, vocalist, performer and a multi-instrumentalist playing an astounding nine instruments proficiently. Instruments include the guitar, keyboards, drums, bass, trombone, woodwinds and numerous percussions. A renowned trumpeter, Peven recorded solos on cuts such as Curtis Lundy's album, “Against All Odds”, released in 1999, including the key single, “Groydology”. In addition to his vast technical knowledge musically, Peven also has seven years of jazz and classical orchestration experience. Alongside his musicianship, he is an exquisite songwriter, vocalist and dancer.
QUENTIN HARRIS Born and raised in Detroit, Quentin Harris came of age inspired by many of the legends of his hometown. Motown, Prince, P-Funk and, of course early techno, instilled in Harris a love of all forms of music. Today, he is recognized as one of the leaders in the field of deep house. It has been said that his work re-vitalized what had become a saturated and tired genre. Indeed Harris resists the very notion of working within genre parameters.
The record will be released on Unified Records on the 1st March. If you head over to the label's web page and have a nosey under the artist section you can hear clips of both of the two mixes on the release, just make sure you have a copy of Real Player to hand.
