With names across the board such as Carl Cox, Armin van Buuren, Marco V, Felix Da Housecat, Gabriel and Dresden and Judge Jules all cueing this record up and singing its praises, it's quite clear that SvD has once again come up with the goods...
:: Sander van Doorn - By Any Demand :: BAD001
A: By Any Demand (Original Mix) This new monster from Sander van Doorn gets it's name from the track it samples - 'Back By Dope Demand' by King Bee. Its particular genre is debatable - there are some very very electro styled sounds influences in there, that's for sure. The track also retains that deep and dark SvD style drive though too, so that's why it's appealing to such a massively wide range of DJs at the moment. Aside from the really pounding beats and the trademark crisp and impeccably arranged percussion, there are two distinguishing qualities to this track. The first is the bassline - it's incredibly fat and no doubt about it will annhiliate dancefloors with ease. The second is the wonderful sample from 'Back By Dope Demand'. A great little build up reveals the distinct twanging guitar riff which leads to the "Back by dope dope demand!" quote and back into the gut wrenching beats and bass. Simplicity, perfectly executed. This one will probably make it into quite a few peoples' 'Best of 2007' lists.
AA: By Any Demand (Dope Mix) The Dope Mix of 'By Any Demand' takes on a slower pace whilst the bass is made more rounded and a lot softer and the percussion takes a more active role in the foreground. Additionally, the "Back By Dope Demand" vocal sample is re-sampled and utilized as sfx much more here and there are also a few electro-sounding synth lines which come and go. Some of them seem a little familiar to the ones heard in Sander's 'Grasshopper', in both sound and style.
Conclusion:
Another quality piece from SvD. Whether you prefer the tough and dirty Original or the housier and more upbeat Dope Mix, this tune is causing riots out there in clubland at the moment so grab a copy whilst you still can.
