Here's a pair of tracks from earlier in the year which are on AVA's digital side. They come from progressive producer, Hawk. Going beyond the norms of progressive trance, these two tracks should not be overlooked...
:: Hawk - You're Mine / Limitations Of Language :: AVA Digital :: AVAD001
1) You're Mine 'You're Mine' comes with a thick and fat percussion - an essential for any top notch progressive track. You're also treated to a deep, dirty and gritty bassline which is almost electro in style. This is a nice touch as it avoids those samey, hollow basses which are used far too much in a lot of progressive productions out there. The initial melodic element is similar to other tracks of the same style - dainty notes are sprinkled over the track but the instrument is beautifully clear and the notes are excellently placed, making them a thing of beauty instead of a formality and also creating a still gentle but upbeat feeling all the same. A much fuller sounding melody is introduced later on. The synth is pure and clear and the melody itself is commanding, well structured but not over-powerful. Before the track nears its end, the lead melody transforms into a much lighter, incredibly angelic sounding pattern. This progression within the melody - and the actual synth - is another property of this track which makes it so appealing.
2) Limitations Of Language The winning formula is repeated here - chunky beats and crisp, tight percussion. There is an immediately noticeable element here though - the bassline. Incredibly round and active for a prog track, it takes the track by the scruff of the neck and leads it forwards. This is contrasted well with heavily sampled female vocals which punch in melodically with various "oohs", "aahs" and "eehs". This develops into some proggy melodies played by some icey synths which dance over the top of the production. Overall a compelling track made so mostly because of that unique sounding bassline.

Conclusion:
AVA's digital division is definitely worth a look, the same goes for these two tracks which stand out easily from the rest of the progressive crowd.
