Hernán is again using this compilation series to demonstrate his preferred style of deep and deep electro house music in an expert blend of some of the latest and most diverse tracks from across the globe.
The extremely busy South African DJ (over 120 dates a year - !) is looking to capture his current sound over these two CDs, starting with atmospheric moods, rising to something a little more peak time along the way. Additionally, multiple exclusives can be found strewn throughout both discs - exclusive tracks which Hernán asked be produced specifically for this very album!
Getting onto the CDs, CD1 indeed starts nice and chilled with deep moods, chunky proggy beats and basslines which carry an elegant hint of funk with them. The tunes continue to build into a set of peak deep house music, whilst a sense of singularity between tracks is also maintained, even though they are all so smoothly mixed together.
CD2 livens the pace quite noticeably. The tracks here all possess much more in the way of synth elements and sounds. Be it backing pads, subtle hints of melody, invigorating basses or a combination of the above, there is always something there which is spicing up the current sound, raising the level and mood of the music and hence the atmosphere it's creating, eventually ending on a highly enjoyable and almost uplifting tip!
Conclusion:
Another fine demonstration of Hernán Cattáneo's finely tuned and expertly honed skills. Don't miss this if any type of house music is your thing...
