 Fat! Records are proud to announce the re-release of Unique 3's classic bleep and bass anthem 'The Theme' on Monday 4th June...
For those that don't know 'The Theme' was a pioneering record that inspired a whole generation of producers from The Chemical Brothers to LFO to Goldie, the track pretty much formed the blue print for the early drum 'n' bass movement as well as inspiring one of the most important experimental labels Warp (deep breath!) And was recently voted the No.1 anthem from seminal UK club The Hacienda by its long standing residents.
Following a chance meeting with Unique 3 Fat! boss Paul Arnold jumped at the chance to re-sign this legendary release and now, 17 years after its first release, it is being re-released on Paul's Fat! imprint, backed up by mixes from some of the hottest new producers around: Merka, The Rogue Element, Dom Kane and Rhythmatic alongside Warp artists Autechre (who demanded to remix this single as part of the remix) and Zilla giving this unbeatable track a distinctive 2007 twist. For those who missed it first time around or with an ear for nostalgia Unique 3’s Original 8 Track Remix is included in the impressive package.
With support from DJs as varied as Lisa Lashes, Will Saul, Anthony Pappa, Matt Darey, general Midi, Dreadzone, Tyler Stadius, Future funk Squad, Steve Parry, Tony Tay as well as being single of the month in DJ, I-DJ & M8, this release marks the Unique 3's return to the dance scene and he is currently working on a brand new artist album expected later this year.
