Upto now he would be one of the major players not to have a regular weekly show but things are about to change with the intorduction of Corsten's Countdown!
Ferry Corsten could been seen as a bit of a venteran in Dance circles, cirtanly within the Trance genre as he produced some of the records that made the style so popular. If you look around the world of Radio both online and over the wireless every major jock and some has their own radio show with Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk having two of the most popular ones going. Paul in fact has more than just the one radio show with his Soundgarden and vonyc sessions he puts out every week.
One name missing from the radio show list upto now is Ferry Corsten. I'm sure he's been thinking a radio show is well overdue but the time is near for him to unleash his weekly show called Corsten's Countdown. The name might ooze cheesy daytime television show but Corsten is looking to put the liseners views into the show to compile a monthly chart of the hottest tracks.
The show will be a one hour music showcase weith the last show of each month being a coundown of the most voted and popular tracks from the previous monthly shows. The show may be Ferry's first radio show for years but its a format he is no stranger to.
Ferry Corsten, DJ / producer: “At the very beginning of my career I listened to a Dutch Radio show called 'The Soulshow' , this was the first radio show playing imported dance records from the US & UK. I was impressed not only with the music but also the way the show was produced. During my first production years I used to have my own radio show on a small radio station in my hometown Rotterdam. It was loads of fun even if it was a lot of work. With the development of technology and all these cool gadgets, I can now produce a radio show according to a concept and standard that I am proud of even while travelling. Corsten’s Countdown is not just a radio show with good music but a show that’s well produced, fun to listen to, and interactive as well. I am really excited that I can finally pick up my old passion of radio and give it a fresh twist”. Ferry Corsten
SHOW SCHEDULE
The weekly radio show will air every wednesday and boradcast on XM Radio and popular online dance music station DI.FM.
DI.FM: Every Wednesday @ 2 PM US ET / 11 AM US PT/ 8 PM CET/ 7 PM UK TIME XM Radio: Every Wednesday @ 11 PM US ET / 8 PM US PT / 5 AM CET / 4 AM UK TIME (BPM Channel) Every Sunday @ 7 PM US ET / 4 PM US PT / 1 AM CET / 12 PM UK TIME (BPM Channel)
It's about time Ferry put a show out and I'm sure with a name like his people will be tuning in to see what he plays as he does like to spin a bit of everything these days. Check it out this forthcoming Wednesday to see what this new show can offer the world of Radio.
