Activa is back with some more trance action this year, with Liquid Recordings being the host once again...

1) Flashpoint (Origfinal Mix)
Activa is really on form at the moment, and as 'Flashpoint' begins to play, this fact is very evident. The sound is full bodied, energized yet the trancey elements still seep through with ease. A driving bassline is the bed for powerful and almost acidic backing riffs whilst a hybrid sunth/piano plays a simple selection on notes to form a catchy, dreamy and uplifting melody. The breaks in this piece are sumptuously rich and just as melodic in nature and are a delicious contrast to the energy created as the rest of the track drops back in. Excellent material from Activa here - to me this is what Liquid Recordings is all about.
2) Flashpoint (Deep Mix)
The Deep Mix of 'Flashpoint' is exactly that, with the focus more on drive than progressive. There's deeper, darker bass and more oomph behind the beats. The percussion has been enhanced and brought to the foreground whilst airy, spacey pads wash around from time to time to keep things fresh. There is a break which features the melody for about a minute but then it's straight back to the strong, deep, dark driving force we could hear before. This will appeal massively to the tech trance fans out there too.

Conclusion:
We've got some wicked music here. This is what we all expect to hear from Liquid as a label and hope to hear more of from Activa. Quality trance on one side and an almost perfect cross of tech and trance on the other!
