The first thing you notice about this double CD compilation is that CD1 is dubbed 'Electric House and CD2 is dubbed 'Electric Trance'. This isn't surprising after the massive electro explosion last year and then the mad genre crossovers which have been taking place over the last 6 to 8 months. Here Godskitchen have acknowledged this and have gone for 2 diss which clinically demonstrate the best sounds from 2 very popular styles at the moment.
CD1 is as electro as it gets really. The tracks remain chunky, funky and bassy throughout, with plenty of that deep and grinding electro bass to keep fans electrified. The tracks all flow well together, peaking and troughing between some cooler vocal efforts and the peaktime dirty belters. The whole range of tracks is widely known and massively popular, but the best that stand out are tracks like Pryda - Remember, the Dirty South & TV Rock Remix of Josh Wink - Higher State Of Consciousness and DJ Delicious - Let It Drop (Henrik B. Remix).
CD2 ups the tempo a bit and hits you with all the electro-inspired trance that's been rocking the floors this year. It's a sound which is kind of dividing the trance community in some ways because some people can't stand it whilst others are really warming to it. It begins in an eerie and atmospheric fashion with Martin Landsky - 1000 Miles and this is a fabulous way to start the disc. The track seems to create such a unique feeling. The next few tracks keep things dark and different - this is where you hear Sander van Doorn's controversial 'Grasshopper' for one of the first times on a compilation. From here the electro essences begins to appear with one of Riley & Durrant's new tracks, 'Hollow', the highly favoured 'Pulverturm 2.0' and the simply massive Swen Weber Remix of Les Djinns' 'Djuma Soundsystem'. This CD just continues with monster track after monster track. It's pointless to try and list them because I'd end up just reeling off the entire tracklist again, they're all that good.
Conclusion:
All I can say here is that there's no doubt about it, this is a pretty much unmissable album.
