Lange has been in the business for nearly 10 years. Consistently delivering the goods in the world of production, Lange's style is always evolving. It's latest incarnation is most intriguing, and is here in the form of two new tracks, 'Angel Falls' and 'Red October', on Lange's own label...
:: Lange - Angel Falls / Red October :: Lange Recordings :: LANGE014CD
1) Angel Falls As this track kicks off, the full bodied beats and well thought out percussion easily let you know that this track is going to be a real treat. At first, the track carries a grimey electro feel as a beefy bassline takes the lead for a short period. However this is countered by some gorgeous synths which tap out a few simple notes, their soft and smooth tones adding incredible amounts of feeling and atmosphere. There is a short break which is nothing short of sublime, especially the pads which line the background - mmmm! When things kick off again, the grimey bass is less apparent but instead there's a deeper, more penetrative bass. The attention to detail in this production is awesome. The quality of the synths and pads combine with the highly emotional melodies and the perfectly crafted sfx to create a powerful and emotive sound. After the final breakdown (about halfway through), the beautiful melody will just take you away on a blissful journey. Such emotion, such quality, this is a fantastic track.
2) Red October 'Red October' is a really, really deep and progressive track. It rolls along at a leisurely 126BPM. Long sweeping pads line this piece and the mood is always kept by the constant chatter of percussion and the ever so slightly funk coming from the bassline. Very relaxing indeed, but not a patch on 'Angel Falls'.
