For those of you who are big fans of BNE or the Israeli Psy-Trance sound, you should fall in love with this album straight away.
Onyx – Groove On BNE Records YOYO85
The production is solid having had input from many well respected artists, Space Cat, Domestic and Oforia to name a few. The album boasts good catchy riffs, stable kicks and funky rolling basslines. Onyx is certainly a producer that people will remember and after listening to this album I would personally be very interested in seeing his live performance, although I feel the slot time for this would have to be right for his music to really shine. My top tunes on the album and party recommendations would have to be: Track 6 – Subliminal. A real storm brewer of a tune, that would give anyone that cheeky smile on the dance floor. Track 8 – Groove On. This tune does exactly what it says on the tin, and has nice uplifting build ups to boot. Track 9 – Water Field......Dirty bassline... say no more.
Conclusion:
For any one who isn't a massive big fan of Israeli Psy-Trance, don't count this album out completely. Give it a listen or two or three and you will discover some hidden gems.
