© DiscoverThe ever growing and popular 'Live As..' mix compilation from John Askew's RecoverWorld network of label’s that include EVE records and Discover are ready to mix volume five in the 'Live As..' series.

John Askew first brought us the opening volume of 'Live As..' way back last year and its since been growing as a very respectable compilation series you know with each purchase that your going to have quality records on there. The concept is very simple; record a set from the DJ at a live event and bang it on a CD for people to listen to at home.

The series aims to create a different feel to your usual compilation release. The mix is recorded live on that night with each mix having that extra 'he could shag this up at any moment' element. Obviously a DJ has a certain idea of what records he plays when and where but sometimes they can just bang anything in depending on the mood of the DJ and the crowd. You can almost smell the sweat of dripping down the chin of the man in control of the decks and feel the roar of the crowd. It's those factors that make these live CD's very special.

The fifth compilation will be recorded at this weekends Planet Love festival over in Island and Greg Downey has been selected to perform the mix for it. Greg will be playing in the GoodGreef arena at one of Ireland's biggest dance festivals held at Shane's Castle. I'm sure the extra pressure of knowing his mix will be released on CD will make it that little bit more special and you can forgive him for a few errors in there as that what makes the 'Live As..' series that bit more human.

The compilation will be released sometime before the end of the year but in the meantime keep your eyes peeled for number four in the series. I'm sure the people at RecoverWorld know there is a number called four that slides between three and five so you can expect there to be a new 'Live As..' before this one gets released. Who mixed that one is unknown to me at the moment but if its anything like what has gone before it’s bound to be a cracker.
