GARETH EMERY - THE PODCAST ANNUAL 2007
BAROQUE RECORDS
06/11/07

First, a brief history lesson. Back in March 2006 Gareth Emery launched the first edition of The Gareth Emery Podcast, a fortnightly selection of upfront, cutting edge dance music, tunes that were working for him on the dancefloor and records that he just thought should be brought to our ears. 100% free to download, his blend of house, trance and progressive sounds soon built up a huge following amongst more discerning dance music lovers and catapulted it into the Worldwide Top 20 Featured Podcasts (iTunes) as well as earning him an impressive #34 spot in the DJ Mag Top 100 Poll 2006.

Listeners have been drawn from all corners of the globe to download the Podcast, and Gareth was honoured by a nomination for Best Podcast in 2007’s Miami WMC IDMA Awards, competing against Pete Tong, Roger Sanchez and John Digweed. He regularly attracts some of the world’s biggest DJs to contribute to the ‘Podcast Player’ section of the show, including Paul van Dyk, Fedde Le Grande, Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes and Astral Projection.

The success has inspired Gareth to compile The Podcast Annual 2007, a selection of some of the finest moments of 2007, current dancefloor burners, his own massive club hits and plenty of exclusives. This is a reflection of his own fine taste in dance music that has seen him rock crowds from Brazil to Singapore in 2007, as well as being the sole UK DJ other than Oakie booked to play at Holland’s massive Trance Energy festival. Only the highest quality cuts are included resulting in one of the most diverse, sleekest and charismatic dance compilations of the year encompassing the entire spectrum of the unique Emery sound, taking in feel-good electro house, anthemic vocals, soaring trance riffs and driving techno beats.

He draws on only the best production stables in the world, featuring tracks from the likes of Eelke Kleijn, David West, Fine Taste, Andy Moor, My Digital Enemy, Kyau & Albert, Alex M.O.R.P.H., Rank 1, Ronski Speed, Stoneface & Terminal and Ferry Corsten. Of course, plenty of Emery productions are thrown into the mix, including last year’s massive ‘Another You, Another Me’, this year’s just-as-huge remix of Albert Vorne – Formentera What as well as his brand new single ‘More Than Anything’ and his much-sought-after bootleg of Boosta – Dance Is Dead – you won’t hear that one anywhere else outside an Emery gig!

Released on the über-cool Baroque label, this is modern electronic music at its best and a perfect summery of the high-quality dance music we have been blessed with this year.
