Yoshitoshi Montreal Mixed by Sultan is a great album. Having listened to it more than a few times. The tracks on this CD have yet to disimpress me...
Sultan is a DJ I had not heard of before but have to say has mixed a wicked CD both with great tunes and tunes that he has produced himself. This CD is a mixture of Progressive sceanic kind of house mixed with Trance elements. I love it! The start of the CD sets the scene for the journey this CD will take you on and it won’t disappoint. Track 1, Sultan Feat Zara (No Why) is one of my favourite tunes and I'll be definitely dropping this in a set or two. Track 7, Sultan & Ned Shepherd (Together We Rise) is again a wicked tune. Funny that I was already playing it in some of my sets and didn’t realise it was by sultan as well, but never the less a lovely tune! I like this mix so much as it combines great music with a lot of live instruments and great percussion with a dreamy feel to it. The last track on the CD, 14, Sultan Feat. Stephanie Vezina. Night Visions. Its nice to see a CD with a difference and the last track is a lovely Chill out end to this amazing CD and shows off the diverse nature of Sultan as a superb producer and DJ. Plus, the mixing ability demonstrated on this cd is enjoyable, I like the way the CD flows.
Conclusion:
I would definitely recommend this CD as it's great to listen to anytime!
