 Radio 1's Essential mix has a new timeslot as do a few other dance shows on the station with them all moved to Friday nights. The Essential Mix is one of the most honoured shows to put a mix two and here is who is up in the next few weeks.
There has been many a great DJ put together two hours of continuous music for Radio 1's long standing Essential Mix. It's a show with no great musical style but invites dance artists from all genres to showcase their talents to millions of listeners. Its been broadcasting for well over ten years and I'm sure will still be broadcasting in the next ten years.
Radio 1 has been dabbling with the weekend schedule especially with their dance shows. No more Saturday night warm ups from Judge Jules or a cheesy look back at dance anthems with Dave Pearce while taking a bath on Sunday nights. It's all been moved to Friday nights with a 12 hour dance music endurance effort if you want to catch all the shows. I personally don’t like the new schedule and I'm sure the numbers tuning in will down, especially on Jules show which airs at 1AM Saturday morning. The Essential Mix has been pushed to a later start time of 3AM.
The Essential Mix has always been on at silly hours of the morning so an extra hour later than usually is wont get to many people in a strop. There are some big names popping up on the mix between now and the Festive period.

The Essential mix on Radio One is broadcasted between 3AM - 5AM GMT and can be listened to anywhere in the world through the Radio 1 web site.
