Bart Claessen is ready to hit us with another smash record, check out 'First Light'...
:: Bart Claessen - First Light :: Yakuza :: YAK020
A) First Light (Original Mix) A muted techy, percussion rich intro allows you to quickly feel the full force of this track - when the bass and kick drop in you're treated to a driving, stomping force which sounds like almost the very essence of tech trance. It's the quality combo of the deep bass and full on chattering percussion. An electronic synth makes itself known by stabbing jabs of sound rhythmically into the mix, intensifying the techy flavours. This brings us, rather abruptly, to the breakdown. It's an immediate change into a passage led mainly by a medley of strings and a vocal line. The strings demonstrate beauty and elegance whilst the clean and clear vocal, sung by Simon Binkerborn (who I think should've got a 'Feat....' in the trackname), add a vivid streak of emotion to the track. It's a true assault on the senses, being bombarded by strong tech, then wonderful strings and then by a spot on piece of vocal work. This combination of styles makes this production very powerful - blindingly so perhaps, I first spent time listening to the Dub Mix so didn't initially realise the full power it contained. But what power! An awesome track!
B) First Light (Original Dub Mix) This mix simply omits the vocals which you hear during the lovely string sections.

Conclusion:
Even though you can choose to go with a vocal or non vocal mix, I highly recommend the vocal version as it carries so much feeling, emotion and power. Wicked stuff, this one holds a special position in my heart.
