Clapham’s legendary DJ bar announces 4am license...
Inigo Bar 4am launch – Fri 7th & Sat 8th December 2007! Featuring special guests: Mike Monday (Fri) & The Loose Cannons (Sat)
Since it’s launch in 2001, South London’s original DJ bar has always been a firm favourite on the London bar and club scene. With a reputation as a guaranteed top night out for those in search of great tunes, amazing DJs and a house party vibe in comfortable, intimate surroundings. Inigo remains an oasis in the lack of quality nightlife desert that is Clapham. Over the years its reputation has been sealed through bringing some of the biggest DJs on the planet down to this intimate 150 capacity venue to give attendees the experience akin to having major DJs playing in your mates house party, over the years world class DJs such as Nic Fanciulli, Yousef, Fergie, James Zabiella, X-Press2, Jon Carter, Eric Prydz, Freestylers, Stanton Warriors, Plump DJs have passed through the venues doors and they keep asking to come back for more. But it’s not just about the big names, Inigo has always been a firm supporter of new and local talent, featuring events seven nights a week and playing host to events such as Electric Sex, Dirty Groove, Break Free, Blow, Stereo Zoo, Elektronik as well as the legendary Ignition parties which was where the then-aspiring DJ and producers Tom Neville and King Roc cut their DJ teeth and honed their skills and sound. When it launched the bar was something of a one off, the term ‘DJ Bar’ hadn’t even been coined, DJs played records in pubs but it was normally through a tiny crackly sound system. The bar’s owner Will Campbell-Jones saw a gap in the market for combining his love of clubbing with his love of errrr, drinking and Inigo was born and became an instant hit on the South London nightlife scene as well as drawing clubbers from all over London as word of mouth news spread of this rocking party featuring great DJs where you were actually allowed to dance on the tables and bar! Since then every bar and his dog now features DJ nights and the Clapham scene has become somewhat diluted which is where Inigo’s latest announcement – it’s 4am license for Friday and Saturday nights – will see the bar once again shine as Clapham’s leading DJ bar. To kick things off, Inigo has drafted in two amazing DJs and Inigo favourites for it’s first weekend – kicking off on Friday 7th with South London’s finest purveyor of wonky disco Mike Monday (OM Records / Playtime / Worldwide) who heads up the charge for resident event Dirty Groove, whilst Kiss100’s The Loose Cannons joins Inigo’s resident Saturday nighter which has seen long standing residents Dugal and James C rocking each and every weekend since Inigo launched!
