Master of the deep and progressive sound, John Digweed is returning to Renaissance with the third in his series of 'Transitions' albums...

As you can see, Digweed has crammed in a massive 20 tracks in this third iteration of 'Transitions'. Exclusive edits (apparently they've all been retouched by the man in some way, shape or form) of the tracks, along with near on continuous layering has resulted in the overall running time of the CD containing more time spent in the mix than not. So there's pretty much always something going on and Digweed always makes sure that he is building up the sounds gradually over the 80 minutes the mix plays for.
Flicking through the album doesn't do it justice, as you listen. Even if it's just in the background, the music can easily take hold and force you along on its journey so long as it's allowed to play through continuously. The sounds are deep and a big part of this series is the atmosphere and feeling that is generated and also implied.
Conclusion:
Fans of Digweed, 'Transitions' itself, and the deep prog sound shouldn't miss this expertly crafted piece of work.
