It's not often you hear Paul van Dyk speaking his mind but dance site Beat Factor managed to get Paul on the phone with a very handy Interview worth having a listen to.
It's not often you hear Paul van Dyk speaking his mind but dance site Beat Factor managed to get Paul on the phone with a very hand Interview worth having a listen to.
Your lucky to catch a word with the big DJ's but Beat Factor have done a good job tracking down Paul van Dyk to get his thoughts on a few things. They managed to catch him after one of his gigs in Romania last month.
It's a very good interview with Paul speaking up on his DJ experiences and his opinion on this years DJ Mag Top 100 poll. He had a few harsh words to say about his thoughts on the relevance of the poll with his views on his hometown Berlin not being a place for breaking new music.
It's good to hear the man talk openly about his views on the dance music scene and very much worth having a listen to, especially if you’re a Paul van Dyk fan.
A little snippet from it with Paul explaining his inspiration for what he does:
Well, life in general is an inspiration. As an example, Berlin is an inspiration as long as it goes never to be as boring and never to actually be as lazy as most of the things that are happening here; so it’s kind of shows you how not to do it.
On the other hand, life in general is an inspiration. I will be amazingly impressed when I’m coming to Bucharest again, and see the crowd, and feel the crowd. That’s going to impress me that will be an influence on me. This is what is going to inspire me to make music again. This is a global phenomenon, when you absorb the entire atmosphere, what you see and what you feel.
