The 23rd annual International Dance Music Awards held at this years Winter Music Conference in Miami is looking to you to put your votes for this year's nominees.
The Winter Music Conference is possibly the biggest event all year for the dance music Industry with just about every big name you can think off jetting off to Miami for a few days of dance music chatter. It's where all the major players in the Industry get together and highlight there vision for the future of dance music, or at least try to tell you that their record will be the hottest thing this summer since the re-birth of hot pants.
One of the more fan interactive events at the Conference is the International Dance Music Awards which is held at the event. With well over forty awards up for grabs and covering every style of dance music from trance, house, techno, rap and R&B. The awards give you the chance to put forward your nominees for each category. You can vote for your favourite producer, record label, turntable, sound system, dance track the awards covers a lot of ground within the industry.
Voting is now open for the nominee selection process and will be until the 23rd January Last year saw Fedde Le Grand scoop the award for best breakthrough artist and best Underground track, which considering since then its been on every mainstream compilation known to man is rather amusing. Pioneer won the award for the best mixer with their club based DJM1000 and still remain the king of CD Turntables with the CDJ1000 voted Best CD Player. Voting is pretty simple, just pop over to the IDMA page, fill in a few details and get nominating away. The Winter Music Conference will be held from the 25th to 29th March and held in the as un winterish surrounds of Miami beach. We'll bring you the list of the nominees when they are announced but for now get voting.
