This tracks been hamered by Armin on his ASOT radio show for months and now the gorgeous grooves of Jose Amnesia with the vocal sprinkles of Jennifer Rene are available on release.
Jose Amnesia is here with a brand new release on Armin's Armind label. It's another vocal collaboration with the gorgeous Jennifer Rene. She last did the vocal work on Jose 'Louder' track release back in 2006 and also on 'Invincible' release last year. That was progressive chilled trance record using the soothing vocals to add that extra emotion to the record. The combination returns for this new release with Jennifer providing the vocals and Sied van Riel on the remix.
:: Original Mix :: Sied van Riel Remix
The Original is very progressive. The start of the track is deep with a steady beat and bassline riff in the distance. The vocal builds the track up here with it coming in quite early. The voice of Jennifer Rene is a joy to hear its got to be said even though vocals seem to be talking about love in one form or another. The progressive nature of the track kicks up a gear with soft pads and a kick off the main beat feeding in with dark sounds sliding in and out. The track builds with simplicity and creates a hook using the vocals throughout. It builds and builds and towards the end of the track in comes a delightful piano sequence to compliment the bass line grooves going off. That’s where it al builds up to and stops. Not your peak time pumping banger this as it’s more a progressive epic for those relaxed starts to your sets.
Moving onto the Sied van Riel Remix and things move up a gear. The dark progressive feel is gone to be replaced with a sublime groove and faster beat. This is still on the more progressive side of things trance wise. The echo on the splash sounds that feed in at the start are really ear friendly and the pads used in the build give the track life. There is something good about the atmosphere with this track, the vocals seem to work better with it than the original. When the track cuts out to leave the main vocals the small drips that feed along with it work the main beat back in well. The beat here is sticky if you know what I mean. Shuffles with the kicks make the progressive track not so much a bore while your waiting for things to happen. The piano sequence is bled in the distance and foreground sounds made that little more louder before it all kicks into a main melody. Things chill out a little and pop goes the vocal right on cue. The meat in the remix comes after that main break melody, the beat comes back and with it comes a riff pattern that catches your ear. That’s the hook and its worth waiting for.
Conclusion:
I first heard this on Armins ASOT and it stood out then for me as a record to get. The original is a progressive trip from start to end where as Sied van Riel keeps the progressive nature but just adds that something extra to make it the mix to go for with this release.
