They have created some of the finest melodies in Trance and electronic music and are set to release another must buy album for this year, Rain Stars Eternal.
The last Solarstone album I had my hands on was Anthology One. It had two CD's full of material released by the duo of Rich Mowatt & Andy Bury with classic such as 'Solarcoaster' and one of my favourites 'Seven Cities'. That release did indeed feature their last single release 'Late Summer Fields' which included some gorgeous remixes you should really have a listen to. When that release came out there was talk of another two more, one for the remixes they have done and another for the chill out stuff they've released. Those have not been released as yet and I doubt they will. Never fear about that though because this year will see the release of a brand new Solarstone artist album.
What's the new album going to be all about then?
Following the massive success of 'Late Summer Fields' (5/5 'Stunning - DjMag) the next Solarstone single is an album sampler consisting of 2 tracks from the album, 'Rain Stars Eternal', a dark and melodic driving electronic club tune which comes with a storming 'Agnelli & Nelson' remix. The second track is something that Rich has been dropping in his sets for months. Entitled 'Spectrum' this is a progressive trance track with a thunderous breakdown, accompanied by a driving Duderstadt remix.
The album itself is a beautifully designed 12 track eclectic mixture of styles, from the classic Solarstone trance sound to sultry deep house to avant garde electronica to big room electro and massive orchestrated downtempo soundtracks. Featuring brilliant musicians and vocalists alonside Rich Solarstone's reknowned production skills. Vocalists include Elizabeth Fields ('Part Of Me'), Julie Scott ('Filoselle Skies'), Essence ('Die Making Love') Alex Karweit ('Break Away') plus another big name t.b.a
Who is that big name they talk about then I wonder? It looks like we can expect some really tasty vocal offerings on the new album with a mixture of styles spread over the twelve track release. The first single release is a sampler from the album and should be released sometime in March. The album is scheduled for release in April, no exact date but a month to keep your eye out for it to be popping up in CD and digital record stores.
