What’s going on with the world of Genix at the moment? Aside from being a resident for 'Passion' there is new music; DJ dates and hot new remixes.
Genix has released his January update with details on his successful 2007 and what looks to be a very bright and even better 2008. Last year saw him become a resident for Passion which is one of the biggest clubs in the UK based in Coalville, Leicestershire. He has been entertaining crowds there for the whole of last year with great success and will be looking forward to one club night in February when the mighty Paul van Dyk pops over to the UK to return to Passion, a club he's played many times before.
That night is on the 2nd February and for those of you looking to have it large with Genix and one of the biggest DJ's in the world you can. Pop by the Passion site and grab your tickets while there still are some.
On the production side 2007 was very productive for Genix. He has gained support from many top jocks with his productions and Radio 1's Judge Jules tipped him to blow up in 2008, Not literally I may add. The Judge featured Genix in his tips for this year on his first radio show of 2008 broadcast a few weeks ago along side other potential big stars Richard Durand, Ali Wilson and Nic Callaghan. I don’t think he's any relation to John but if you know any different let us know!
One of his biggest hits from last year would be 'Phused' which had a released on Spinnin' Records sub label 'Reset'. That tracks been featured on many big dance radio show and supported by the likes of Eddie Haliwell and Armin van Burren. Digital Nature provided the remix for that one. The next single to be released by Genix wlil be on Reset again and is called 'Piranha'. The remixers for that have not yet been announced by expect some pretty tasty ones. You can expect more remixes from Genie this year as he Agnelli & Nelson, Pulser, Jan Johnston & Jussi Soro & Vadim Soloviev sliding tracks over his way to sprinkle some spice over this year.
Lots of good things going off for Genix this year, it certainly looks a good year for dance music. Here is a little Genix fact worth knowing that may be of interest. You may well forget that Genix is a holder of a Guinness World Record. He owns the world record for the longest DJ set in history set at a staggering 84 hours, that’s four solid days! He set the record in 2005 and it’s as yet, unbeaten.
