 The combination of Piet Blank and Jaspa Jones have been relaxing for quite a while but will be back on the club scene this year with a brand new artist album.
It's been a while since I've heard anything new from Blank and Jones but fans can be assured they are still very much in the dance music game. They have been promoting their 'Relax' edition two compilation for a while which is a collection of chilled out beats for those relaxing days doing nothing. They first did a chill out album when the style suddenly became the thing to be listening two after a night out at your favourite club spot. The style is very much a love it or hate thing and although I can't stand the stuff if you do Blank & Jones albums are well worth checking out.
They have released some great albums over the past decade or so. 'DJ Culture', 'Nightclubbing', 'Substance' and their last proper artist album 'Monument' which was released back in 2004. They have had a 'The singles' release out and about which compiles the best records spread over those four albums as well as other top draw Blank & Jones tracks.
The wait for another new Blank & Jones album is getting shorter by the day as they have announced a brand new album and single will be released this spring.
"Finally the wait is over! unbelievable, it%u2019s really now 4 years since the release of our last full album "monument". but we promise, this spring the wait is over. we are ready to release a new album and single. thank you for your patience, we hope that we can reward you with an amazing new trip into sound. of course we invited some very fine guests to join us in the studio.
We will present the new single at this years annual MIDEM conference in Cannes (France) together with our fantastic guest vocalist at the end of January. We also have the first dates for an early preview of the album blocked in 2 of our north American homebases: on the easter weekend we will play in San Francisco´s RUBY SKYE and on the saturday in Chicago´s VISION (march 20/21). the following week we will hang out (as everybody else) in Miami for Winter Music Conference. shows in Miami tba soon. stay tuned"
