Ernesto & Bastian celebrate High Contrast's 50th release in style with their brand new single and this year Trance Energy theme 'Thrill'. It's definitely a record to get any party kicking off, check it out....

With this years Trance Energy event less than a month away you should be hearing this record rumbling speakers near you in the weeks before. 'Thrill' is this year’s official Trance Energy Theme and they could not have picked a better record to do the job. This is the duo's second release in two years. Back in 2005 'Dark Side Of The Moon' was the hottest thing since soup out of the pan and since then the only other release has been 'Unchained Melody' last year. That’s all going to change very soon though I assure you. Now then, onto some Thrills.

I think this record will surprise a few people from the feedback from people I've had a talk to so far. The Original Mix is where the real juice is and there is just something about it that makes you want a second listen. It’s got a mixture of tech and a break down with a build that is enough to make your pants explode. The beat is pounding with stuttered metallic riffs popping in and out in the star. The track cuts into a break very early with soothing strings and background ambience building the tech driven bass riff that is just about to explode after a drum roll. The hook is that epic sounding tech driven bass roll pulsing through the track at the start. It gets better from that as after another break things start to get more intense. The tech driven bass slides back a little to make way for a slamming riff that floods over the top. This really is a great tech driven trance record and perfect for those big room sound systems.

The Reflecting Diversity Mix is a welcome little gem in this release. This mix has a bit of funkiness about with the way it builds itself up. Its got more of a flow from the original and a different vibe. The beat is complimented by a funky sounding string that makes up the backbone of the track while all the other elements pop in and out doing their job well. The main tech driven melody is here from the original and is fed in steadily rather than slammed directly in your face. The mix works well and I'm sure will go down very nicely to those who like their tech sounding trance to flow nicely.

Conclusion:
What a great record! The guys have done a cracking job with this one and it fully deserves to be this years Trance Energy theme. The original will no doubt blow up the big room to bits with its big hitting riffs and breaks. The Reflecting Diversity Mix gives it a different edge but a good one. Get checking this one out.
