Coming soon this month is the latest offering from trance legend Solarstone is a progressive piece by the name of 'Rain Stars Eternal'. Giants Agnelli & Nelson step in with a remix on the trancier side of things...
:: Solarstone - Rain Stars Eternal :: Solaris
1) Rain Stars Eternal (Original Mix) 'Rain Stars Eternal' is the flagship track for Solarstone's forthcoming album, of the same name, which is due out in May this year. This original mix leans towards the cooler, kind of steely side of trance with it's progressive sounds and feelings. There are gentle pads and synths layered nicely, creating a smooth and flowing ambiance whilst a colder synth and an ever-filtering (almost acid-line-esque) backing melody take a steady lead. One striking aspect of this track is that it's a mammoth 11 minutes long. 11 minutes! Bear in mind that the only breakdown is merely 1 minute and 20 seconds long, and comes along fairly early, the rest is left for you to enjoy the gentle, melodic undertones of this production and provides you with a lot of track to take in and absorb.
2) Rain Stars Eternal (Agnelli & Nelson Remix) Agnelli & Nelson have really spiced this one up! The pace is much quicker and the beat and percussion have been energised, providing a much more 'clubby' feel with it's new-found rhythmic groove. The bass is more noticeable, making everything seem bigger and fatter so the track rolls with a greater overall presence. The cold, cutting lead is very much intact as it was found in the original. It sails along nicely with the rolling, groovy feeling of the track, sounding quite ghostly at times - and that helps add really well to the atmospherics. We're treated to two shorter breakdowns in this offering, allowing mainly for you to stop and take note for a moment before jumping back into what is a highly enjoyable remix!
Conclusion:
Good stuff again from Solarstone, as you'd all have come to expect. Prog fans are in for a treat with the original, whilst those trancey fans who might feel a tinge of disappointment can revel in the quality of Agnelli & Nelson's remix effort.
