A couple of NuNRG's sought after tunes, 'Kosmosy' and 'Last Experience', are given the remix treatment from Digital Nature and the formidable Octagen...
:: NuNRG - Kosmosy / Last Experience (Remixes) :: Monster Tunes :: MONSTER022
1) Kosmosy (Octagen Remix) This remix by Octagen of NuNRG's quality 'Kosmosy' kicks off with pace, energy and the kind of bite that you'd come to expect from Octagen's own sound. From the early stages there are hints and murmurs of hooks and melodies hidden within the track - pads and synths quietly stir in the background, and this gives the build up a great dash of excitement. After the inevitable breakdown and the introduction of the lovely 'Kosmosy' melody, an overly melodic section of the production begins to take place. The beat and tight percussion fuel the track well and the pads and melodic synths sing out beautifully, creating a melodic plateau which glides along blissfully. This only brings you to the half way point though, and this is where Octagen unleashes their tougher sound as the melody gives way for grittier, tougher synths which stab out rhythmic patterns in an almost acidic manner. A wicked contrast to the track and overall making this something you can both enjoy melodically and also have a real stomp to as well!
2) Last Experience (Digital Nature Remix) Hard trance is the flavour of the day for this remix from Digital Nature. The track is based on some heavy, pounding beats and a simple, highly energetic bassline which has a slightly retro feel to it, bringing back memories of hard house from years gone by. After the breakdown, whose benefits include some calmer moments thanks to some more gentle pads, the bulk of this track is used to power out the main melody/hook. This is achieved rather definitively with some hugely powerful sustained synths which pour out a torrent of hard trancey energy for a good solid few minutes before allowing the track to peter out slowly towards the end.
Conclusion:
Monster Tunes continue their highlight on NuNRG's material with these two remixes. Both are good but Octagen's effort is my clear favourite thanks to the combination of the sweet melody and tougher sounds.
