Into The Night is one of Trance musics finest records and loved by many all over the globe. It's been remixed for this year by Re-Ward and is out right now on Liquid Recordings. This one is worth having a lisen to...
Before this release I'd never heard of Re-Ward before. It's the creation of Dutch born and bread producer Wardt van der Harst who only had his first record signed and release back in 2006. He is one of the new breed of producers that will sure be popping up more often in the months to come. 4 Strings need little introduction as they have been around for years releasing quality electronica with Carlo Resoort and Jan De Vos the guys behind the alias.
:: Re-Ward Dub :: Re-Ward Remix
The original record by 4 Strings was a vocal free epic trance offering with one of the most gorgeous breakdowns and melodies I've ever heard. They re-released it again with pointless vocals that I suspect just to sell a few copies to kids who like to sing along to songs. I don’t think there was any need for the vocals and I think it spoils the record and that goes for every remix featuring them I've heard. That is why 'Into The Night' is labelled as 'Take Me Away' on the release because of the vocal versions they released a year or so after the original first saw daylight. It will always be Into The Night though so that I call it.
I first heard this particular dub mix as on a radio show and it was definitely one that jumped up and got my attention. The formula is not that much different from the original record but the sound is deeper with a great leading melody that feeds in at the start then tweaks into a build. The sound is deep and pulsating with kicks off the main beat of the record dropping in very nicely. The soothing goose bump inducing lead changes tone and flutters away to leave the epic melody to build. Balearic and atmospheric chords drop with the classic strings that made the original such a great piece of trance chime away. The synths build from the distance as the strings get louder to bring in the main lead that acts as a second melody to lead the song out. The feel and sounds with this remix are fantastic and its gives the same feelings delivered with the original but in a different tone with some great tweaks. This is an excellent record.
The Vocal version is a carbon copy of the dub but using the pointless and vocals I wish they had never put on the record. I'm sure they are to somebody's taste but for me some records just don’t need vocals. This is one of those records, regardless of the mix. The production is superb but the vocals that just whisper on the lead and ruin a great melody are unnecessary.
Conclusion:
This record will always be known, or at least to me as Into The Night. Vocals work superbly with tracks but for me this one should have never had any. This is an excellent record though and possibly the best remix to be released of the record and there have been a few. Thankfully our store only has the dub mix but that’s perfect as I would not bother with the vocal version, dub all the way. Great remix and a good indication of the talent this new producer has.
