The festival season is about to get underway with a bang and out store partners trackitdown have a very special competition offering fifteen budding DJ's thre chance to play a live set at this year;s Dance Island festival...
I would say attending some of this years dance festivals is good enough for any electronic music fan but everybody has that dream of standing in front of thousands of people perfecting the art of mixing one record into another. There have been a few competitions in the past offering sets in nightclubs but this time trackitdown are offering fifteen budding DJ's the chance to play at this years Dance Island festival.
The festival itself is a one day dance music extravaganza with house, trance and the harder style of music all on offer spread around six arenas. Hosted in the UK in the heart of East Anglia just north of Cambridge the festival line up includes , The Tidy Boys, Paul Glazby, BK, Lee Haslam, John O'Callaghan, Audio Bullys and Freemasons just some of the DJ's and acts providing the ammunition for the day. The festival does slightly favour those who enjoy Hard House and Hardcore more than others with two Hardcore arena's and a Hard House one.
Trackitdown will have there own arena ta the event and the people providing the music in there could well be you! In total there are 15 sets up for grabs with winners given a full DJ Set, day tickets to the event and five free downloads from the trackitdown shop.
To enter the competition all you need to do put together a twenty minute mix, upload it somewhere (If you don’t have web space there are dozens of free file hosting web sites out there) and send the link to: danceisland@trackitdown.net.
The deadline for all entries is on the 6th June with the expert panel at trackitdown choosing the winners and informing them shortly after. The music style can be anything that tickles your fancy so get mixing.
