A relatively unknown artist, Prospekt, delivers some soothing trance on Lost Language. Nitrous Oxide is there to provide a storming remix...
:: Prospekt - Electrofly :: Lost Language :: LOST081
1) Electrofly (Original Mix) 'Electrofly' is a prog influenced piece of gentle trance. Its first few minutes are spent creating a slow and steady build up consisting of deep bass tones and tranquil synth patterns. It's not until over half way through the track, once the bulk feel and essence of the track has been heavily imprinted onto you, does a melody emerge from the depths. It's a powerful yet distant electric guitar type of instrument which sends notes soaring into the stratosphere as it plays an enjoyable and memorable melody. A short melodic section, but very sweet, making sure this one isn't just straight out prog trance.
2) Electrofly (Nitrous Oxide Remix) I was quite surprised to see Nitrous Oxide putting in a remix on Lost Language! The Polish trance producer sticks to his much adored style here so doesn't disappoint. The pace is quick, the beats are strong and the track is driven forward by a heavy low end and totally synthtastic layer of sound which we can all associate with N20. The melody which appears later in the original is very quick to come along in this interpretation and the track is made much stronger because of it. The melody remains the same although it's a full on synth which pushes it out this time instead of it taking on an electric guitar sound, style and feel. The backing chords and patterns are also the same, just everything is happening more quickly and with added energy and ferocity. Finally, this is also a very long production at over 9 minutes - but this is a positive thing as you get a lot of time to enjoy the powerful melodic force that makes up the bulk of the remix.
Conclusion:
A trancier effort on Lost Language, definitely worth a look, especially for the Nitrous Oxide Remix because if you like his other work, you'll be partial to this too.
