Communicate is diversifying in styles so here they present some dark, techy numbers from Orbital Frame in the form of 'Neith' and 'Solaris'. Check these bad boys out...
:: Orbital Frame - Neith / Solaris :: Communicate :: COMMU019
1) Neith 'Neith' is a pacey, fierce track. It doesn't take long for it to break out into some pounding beats and dark, driving bass. As the track develops, you notice the crisp rasping of the percussion and FX. This puts emphasis on the 'tech' side of things which is useful as productions with similar levels of fierceness as 'Neith' are usually attributed to the harder side of trance. Some subtle melodic hooks develop in the breakdown and these are played by some very staple but excellently forged trance synths - stark, shocking and full of powerful tension. When the track kicks back in, these melodies are present, but are subtly implemented in the background - you always know they're there, but the beat is in the fore and is what really pushes things onwards. In the words of Jeremy Clarkson: "Powerrrrr!!".
2) Solaris 'Solaris' doesn't feel as fast paced as 'Neith', but I think it;s a much more vigorous piece! You'll know what I mean when you hear the bass kick in - it's deep, twisted, dirty and it carries a proper funky groove too, all the while maintaining the perfect balance of power to enable this to be classed as tech trance. There are melodic hints and welcome chord changes early on, all adding up to a fantastic build up of energy and passion within the music. The breakdown is restful and ambient - and it needs to be, as when the track drops back in, it goes totally wild! There's a raw edge hanging off the bassline which acts like a lead synth and just totally rips up this track into something else. Such awesome, firey power, if unleashed onto a dancefloor, would cause maximum destruction. Amazing track!
Conclusion:
A high quality pair of darkened but fierce tech trancers. 'Solaris' is my clear favourite of the two though, with it's burning, fire-fueled nature and that seriously grooving bassline.
