Arpegia teams up with fresh new producer Oliver P to create the Fast Distance project and two hot trancers...
:: Arpegia & Oliver P Pres. Fast Distance - Kilimanjaro / Lunar Path :: Finity Global :: FTYGL001
1) Kilimanjaro Finity Global is a sublabel of the impressive Finity Recordings. Finity brings us some simply awesome trance from the finest Finnish artists and now Finity Global is expanding that notion, bringing you the class acts from all around the world.
It kicks off with 'Kilimanjaro', a production that isn;t afraid to get stuck in quick, hard and fast. It has a bold and energetic bass and is decorated with some funky fx trickery now and again. A smooth and simple synth hook is introduced early as the track is filled with other, dreamy sounds and pads. A graceful progression sees a very pleasing chord sequence come into play and a more melodic essence trakes hold towards the breakdown.
One of the notable things about this track is its sense of determination. You really feel as if it knows where it's going and exactly how it's going to get there. This is emphasised moreso as the breakdown gives way to a torrent of pads and a beautiful melody. When this is powered out over the main body of the track, you know the journey is over and the destination is reached, and all that's left to do is enjoy the rest of this gripping and engrossing piece of trance.
2) Lunar Path 'Lunar Path' isn't as aggressive as 'Kilimanjaro' sounds. Instead it lulls you in with a steady flow of bass and distant hints at the essence of a melody. The deep and moving chord sequence that develops is very fitting - the added depth works on a level that an application of power couldn't achieve alone. This choice of direction is enhanced by gentle sprinkles of various distant synths, combined lovingly with a highly sampled female vocal, creating a very ghostly effect - all the main sounds aren't used directly in the fore, but work together a step away, creating something solid, yet not at all in your face.
Conclusion:
A very strong first release for this new sublabel. Expect more quality if any of Finity's previous releases are anything to go by!
