The latest news and info on the one and only Solarstone...
solarSwarm: Solaris Wants You! Ever wanted to work for a record label? Now's your chance! solarSwarm is the inner-circle committee of the most dedicated Solarstone & Solaris fans out there. Swarmers interaction is already directly affecting the output & course of the Solaris show & the Solaris Recordings label. Swarm Members get upfront access to previews of new Solarstone tracks, upcoming Solaris Recordings material & their attached remixes, alongside a HUGE amount of other benefits! Full details are on the front page of the website and you can apply to join the Swarm NOW by clicking here.
Full On Ferry: Video Verdict! November 1st saw virtually the entire Netherlands trance community (as well as people from as far afield as Brazil and Canada – well the ones we met anyway!) descend on the 10,000 capacity Ahoy exhibition centre for Full On Ferry. Solarstone played the final set, back-to-back with Ferry, while Rich's accompanying crew caught the frankly stunning production on celluloid (well, the digital type!). You can check Solarstone being introduced, spinning 'Galaxia' here and the view from backstage as Corsten’s mighty 'UFO-booth' took off for its last flight of the night. Alternatively just head here for the Solarstone YouTube channel to get it all!
'Lunar Rings' Vinyl Release The solarSwarm have made their voices heard for the first time! The poll that ran through the Swarm page decided the outcome of the ‘Lunar Rings’ vinyl tracklisting. It was a field packed with contenders, one that included potential Tritonal, Santerna & Prospekt inclusions. It was Heatbeat’s tech-trance remix, that won out though, being paired with Rich’s new Extended version, for the greatest double header since Barack Obama and whatever the name of his running mate was. The old fella. Joe something. I don't know, I can't remember - answers on an e-mail! Anyway, 'Lunar Rings' is out on the 9th of January!
And Now For Something Completely Different… Showing just how diverse a musician he really is, Richard’s 2nd Element release is just about to hit the promo trail via ambient lovers label Tiger Shade. ‘Gathering Storm’ is a stunning solo piano opus, which lays bare his ivory-tinkling skills in their most transcendent form. ‘Underwaterfall’, his hyper-absorbing 13-minute-long stretch of seaside atmosphere (first heard on Solarstone's now-classic Chilled Out Euphoria compilation) is already set to become a 2009 Big Chill anthem.
The SolarShop. The Solarstone shop is now fully online and ready to take care of all your most heartfelt Solar needs! Accessible through the ‘Buy Music’ tab at the top of the you can summon a huge range of great music to your front door with just a few clicks of a mouse. Payment can be made through all major credit and debit cards and, handily, it takes also takes PayPal. While you're site-side, don't forget to complete your 'RSE' experience by downloading the album's lyric sheet! Rich’s has mentioned that he can still hear a few of you miss-singing the name of the famous painter name-checked in ‘Lunar Rings’. It’s very much "Jackson Pollock’s", with a ‘P’! Solaris Int. Ratings Smash! Solaris International has had its biggest ratings month yet, with a staggering 55,000 individual show downloads in November alone! And that’s not counting all of you, worldwide, who tune in to listen to it being broadcast on 35 stations weekly. Over the coming weeks Solaris has Lange, Alucard, Ronski Speed, Filo & Peri, Fred Numf and Dennis Shepard all gearing up for guest mixes on the show; they won’t be ones to miss! The show gets its first broadcast on Ministry of Sound Radio each week, bright and early from midnight Tuesday morning. Tune in and don’t miss out! Solar Stone - Into 2009. That’s just about all from us for this month, and indeed for this year. We’ve got some BIG news to drop on you in early January. All that remains is for all of us as SolarHQ to wish all trance fans a very happy festive period and a killer New Year. See you out there soon!
The 'RainStarsEternal' Tour The gig diary’s been packed tighter than Britney’s bra of late as with huge gigs at The Matrixx in The Netherlands (fuelling more speculation of that Solar van Stone release in 2009). Rich is going trans-hemispherical this week (heh, it's a word... we checked!), playing Manhattan in Jakarta before making a long-overdue return to the States, playing playing Circus and Tentations. Then, for New Years, its up to Inside Out's trance-tear-up in Glasgow, so if you happen to be bonny-side, we’d love to see you there.
26/12/2008 - City Nightclub, Perth, Scotland. 31/12/2008 - Inside Out, The Arches, Glasgow, Scotland.
