In a very unique competition, the folk over at Trackitdown are celebrating the launch on the new Street Fighter 4 game with a remix competition to test any producers skills. Sonic Boom, Hadoken and a ton of prizes to be won...
There is usually the odd birthday party popping up in your events tab on Facebook but if you’re a member of Trackitdown's group then you will have had the news about this Street Fighter 2 remix competition. The team over at Capcom have been working on the fourth version of this epic fighter game for the past year or so and Trackitdown feel the need to involve the music producer to get creative to win some very tasty prizes.
The target for this remix material is the classic Street Fighter 2 game which was released back in 1991 and a game I regard as being the best fighting game ever created. I'm sure it was not just me who used to play Street Fighter 2 turbo on the SNES like a man who thought the world would blow up at any minute. The sounds and music from the game were very good back in the day but you now have the chance to make it better. Capcom have provided Trackitdown with full original mastered music, FX and vocal samples for you to put into any track you feel the inspiration to create.
There are no limits on style so anything from Trance, Drum & Bass, Techno, House or even Country music if that floats you boat. All they require you to do is get creative with the samples and produce something pleasing to the ear. You'll find classic vocal cuts in the sample pack like 'Sonic Boom', 'Tiger Uppercut' and the very well known 'Hadoken'. You might even want to make an electronic remake of the character music that would play in the background on the game. It's really up to you!
The prizes for this competition are not to be sniffed at. The four best remixes will win an Xbox 360 and a copy of Street Fighter 4. Runners up will win a copy of the game and the wining remixes will be available to download from Trackitdown free of charge.
HOW TO ENTER
:: Download the free remix sample pack. :: Send a link to your entry in MP3 format to Streetfighter@trackitdown.net. File attachments will not be accepted. :: The deadline for all entries is 2nd February
You will need to be a registered member of Trackitdown to enter to signing up only takes a minute and even if your not the producer type, the Street Fighter 2 samples might bring back some entertaining memories.
