The solo production work of Kuffdam will be collected together for his debut artist album to be released on Vandit next month. His first single from the album is out already to warm you up ready for this explosion of sound...
Like so many production partnerships there comes a time when the lure of going solo is too much to turn down. Kuffdam first made his name producing records with Plant (Not a real plant of course, but Yiannis Roberto Hadjicharlambous) and burst onto the scene with releases such as 'Summer Dream' and an early progressive trance smash called 'Seduction'. This was back in 2005 when things started to really gather pace for the partnership as Vandit picked up their tracks with help from Paul van Dyk to push their new releases on the label.
The releases of 'Dream Makers' and 'The Ones We Loved' really did wonders for the pair and propelled their music through DJ's play lists all over the world. The Kuffdam & Plant project is I'm sure not at its end but its time for Kuffdam to let his solo talents shine and he is about to do just that with the release of his debut artist album entitled 'Network'.
The debut single release taken from the album was released just before Christmas but 'Burning Up' first appeared on Paul van Dyk's excellent 'Cream Ibiza' compilation late in the summer. The single is a sign of good things to come from this album which features ten tracks, including three of his biggest releases with Plant and a track with Lo-Fi Sugar vocals that should work very well. It's very 'Shagadelic' baby and will show just what talents Kuffdam has as a solo producer. i:Vibes will be having a word with Kuffdam before the album hits the stores to get his thoughts on it but until then you'll have to make do with this tracklist.
