The second instalment of Psycadelic Trance compiled and mixed together by John 'OO' Fleming has arrived! Fans of the style will love it and for those of you after a change from your usual trance you should check this out...
John 'OO' Fleming returns to the Euphoria brand yet again with the second volume of Psy Trance Euphoria and its a three disc explosion of a genre that is very much still underground. By that I don’t mean you have to scale down caves to find the music but its not a style that you hear much of without having to go looking. The first album that he released only last year was a three disc audio joyride with the third disc being a collaboration mix with The Digital Blonde and their 00.db project. The change for volume three is its just three discs and three different styles of the Psy genre mixed together by Mr Fleming. The result is very pleasing to the ear follicles and if your going to buy just one Psy trance compilation this year then look no further.

The whole style of Psy/Goa is a relatively unknown midfield for me but the style is one that I have found to really enjoy over the past year. There are hundreds of records released every week that without having a browse around for may well slip past your radar. The aim of this compilation for John is to present the best of the current crop of Psy and progressive records currently doing the business for him. The three discs on each have their own individual style spread over the 90 minutes packed into each one.
The first disc in here is of the progressive style - as with the label it does exactly what it says one the tin - that warms you up very nicely throughout the mix. The tempo is quite relaxed from the onset with the focus on more groove driven melodies and deep thriving bass. The end result with this disc is deep and moody with W's - Perfect Stranger cutting out a killer melodic with that progressive edge on it to get you into the mix. I love the sweeping space style breakdown that ripples through Human Blue's - Dragonflingz, its that kind of deep progressive style with deep feeling that does it for me. The flow of the first disc is spot on and with the vibe being a little progressive it builds up nicely to what are two full on thumping psy mixes to follow.
The beginning of each disc and end all feature a soothing double dose of 00.db prodeuction work which is a nice touch. The second disc goes deeper into the psy sound but picks up the pace more than the first mix. The rumbling bass line that each record within psy seems to feature is ever apparent throughout this journey. The mood is a little deeper and thats thrust forward by the dark nature of the tracks in here. The opening offering of Suntree - Private Guide sets the tone for the rest of the mix. Deep bass melodies with flowing percussion slapped on top set the mood. One thing you’re not short of throughout here is a thumping back beat. The ever pounding combination of banging beats, kicks and snare's give it an aggressive edge that just makes you want to go wild.
The third disc goes over the edge and really takes you into the Psy universe with its big sounding riffs and space aged rumblings. The beat in here has a real punch with tracks like Exotik - Punch Sound that gather the name I'm sure from the massive slaps that lead off the main beat. The Psycadelic space aroma you get with this is evident in the breakdown with vocal announcements within the tracks from another dimension. The high energy within this mix is stunning to listen two and if the previous disc got you wild this one will put you into a frenzy!
Conclusion:
John '00' Feliming is a man very passionate about the music he producers and plays and he has brought a compilation mix here of an underground style that should really be enjoyed more. Those who like Trance will really appreciated the, at times simplicity of the outcome but be more taken away by the feeling you get from it. Fantastic range to be heard here over the three discs and with this album being promoted by one of the biggest brands in dance it’s a sign the Psy sound is one on the rise.
