The preparations for this year’s Global Gathering event are coming together very nicely with early bird tickets on sale already. The full line up has not yet been confirmed but they have released the main headline acts for this year...
Global Gathering could well be the most popular dance festivals in the UK, although I'm sure you could debate that one all night ling with so many summer dance parties popping up each year to rival the crown. Last year's Global gathering had well over 50,000 people turn up for two days of quality dance - apart from Kayne West being booked for the wrong festival - the event was another huge success. The Godskitchen team put together a fantastic site with superb facilities for all those in attendance. This year we should expect nothing but the same, if not better!
The full line up and stage layouts are still in the preparation stage as it can be rather tricky getting all the worlds best DJ's together for one weekend of the year. They have released three of the main headline acts for this year and the names are good. The Drum and Bass team of Pendulam have been booked it and although I can't stand them they are pretty popular amongst the public and appeal to folk of all tastes of music. The re-born Prodigy are to play this year after a hugely successful year last year touring. This time they will be pushing their forthcoming LP 'Invaders Must Die' which gets released at the end of the month. They, as like Pendulam, are a group that people from all styles of music, not just dance, seem to like.
The final artist names to Headline this year and for me one that gets the body bubbling with anticipation is legendary Orbital who have reformed for this year. Their music set alight the dance scene back in the nineties with a success of genre building albums and singles. Chime anyone? Yes please, as that particular record is one of their greatest ever produced. It's great to see the name back in the scene and heading a major dance festival once again.
We will publish the full line up when we hear about it for to book your tickets and have a gander at everything Global pop over to the Global Gathering web site.
