It's been a while since ATB released any new records but that’s always a sign of an artist hard at work, especially in this case as he is about to unload with his brand new artist album...
You will have look back to 2007 for the last release by ATB with 'Justify' being his last single offering which followed his last artist compilation 'Trilogy'. A year seems an eternity in dance music as is the fast paced nature of releases with one good record swiftly forgotten to make way for the next. There are records that seem to never get dusted over in the memory banks and I'm sure a few of ATB's old productions will still be fresh in yours. The single that propelled him into the mainstream '9PM (Till I Come)' was a hit on quite a few car stereo's during the summer of 1999. He hit the nail right on the head with that release coming right in the middle of Trance music's booming early years where people could not get enough of the stuff.
His last single 'Justify' did feature a very good remix by Mark Norman which should get the euphoric follicles stimulated and is worth checking out. I've not heard anything new form him for a while but he's still been on the DJ tour and in between that working on new tracks for this forthcoming release. ATB himself is very happy with the result of his latest production work:
Music wise I can tell you, that you will be very surprised! I think it’s not overstated when I tell you, that I found an absolutely new way to present melodic electronic music. I’ve experimented with very new beats and sounds. I’m tired of always listening to the same beats in the electronic and especially trance music scene at the moment, and I found a solution to let trance sound in a very different and fresh way! Once again...you will be surprised! The days of boring beats are numbered! ATB
Everybody likes to blow their own trumpet though don’t they? The proof is in the pudding and there is plenty to digest with a double disc edition featuring a CD full of chill out tracks for those who seek the ultimate laid back vibe. He has even slipped in a new version of 9PM with 'Summervibes'. The new album is out at the beginning of May and looks worth investigating.
