If there is one DJ you have to see this year then it is definitely Christopher Lawrence. He was voted America's Best DJ last year and in the past few years really built up his reputation as one of the best DJ's in the world. His productions are not to bad either and we reviewed his latest collaboration with Nicolas Bennison 'Continuation', released on his own Pharmacy label, back at the beginning of last year and were very impressed with the result. His latest newsletter dropped into the mailbag this week bringing news of a new solo single, an interview with DJ Times magazine, a free download of one of his latest livesets and of course his forthcoming tour dates. Christopher Lawrence On The Cover of DJ Times Magazine

Christopher Lawrence is featured on the cover of the April issue of DJ Times magazine.

The cover follows Christopher's win of the America's Best DJ title from DJ Times poll in 2008-2009. The Top 100 DJs in America – as selected by the editors of DJ Times – solicited their fans to vote for them, both online and at 40 official ABDJ events at nightclubs and festivals nationwide last year.

Thanks to the support of Christopher's fans, when the polls closed, more than 35,000 votes were cast and Christopher prevailed as #1 Dj in the US.

Christopher was presented with a gold plated Pioneer mixer at a ceremony in Las Vegas, which was the culmination of a four-month contest and tour, presented by Pioneer Pro DJ and DJ Times magazine.

Now entering its third year, America’s Best DJ (ABDJ) has solidified itself as the pre-eminent DJ & nightlife culture branding event in the nation. Inaugurated in 2006, this exciting prize-packed contest supports the growth of US DJ & nightlife culture by encouraging dance-music fans to get involved and promote their favorite US-based DJs in a quest to crown the America’s top jock.

The Brand New Single 'Lie To Ourselfs'

Famed for its diverse lineups and its exotic locale in Southern California’s sun-drenc -hed Palm Springs, Coachella is described as “Probably the Best Festival in the World” by NME and “The Best American Festival” by Rolling Stone.

Christopher Lawrence played the Sahara dance tent at this year's Coachella. This was Christopher's fourth Coachella, having graced the line up of the famed festival more than almost any other international DJ.

Currently working on his third artist album, Christopher debuted his new single 'Lie to Ourselves', a collaboration with Dave Audé and vocalist Jen Lasher at Coachella. In a career first, Christopher featured a live vocal performance during his set, with Jen Lasher joining him on stage to perform 'Lie to Ourselves’ live.

In another career first, Christopher DVJ'd a music video to the new single, set to the backdrop of the city of Los Angeles, during Jen's vocal performance. The music video will be released shortly and will also include footage from the live show at Coachella.

'Lie to Ourselves' is destined to be Christopher's ultimate crossover track with it's haunting vocals and beautiful melodies. The single is already being supported by some of the World's biggest DJs including Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules and Matt Darey.
