It's all going off over at Ferry Corstens Flashover Recordings label this month with a brand new website launched last month and the introduction of a brand new sub label, Isla Recordings. All the latest right this way...
It's becoming quite a trend to set up your own label if you’re DJ at the moment but seeing how long Ferry Corsten has been around the Industry its a little surprising to know that Flashover Recordings is only four years old. It's got a fair back catalogue of good music already released and is spread over four sub labels born off the main label. Each label has its own style attached to it so you have a bit of an idea what to expect from each new release on the various labels. Anyway, on with this months news direct from Flashover HQ and they have announced another label to add to the growing family.
They have just given their web site a full overhaul with a more accessible layout that should help you find out anything you could ever want to know about the label. You can find an archive of their past releases and the latest news hot off the Flashover press.
ISLA RECORDINGS IS BORN
With the other labels being very Trance and tech oriented the guys at Flashover are looking to bridge the gap with a new label that will focus on quality house music. It's not just any old House but tracks that may well be a little diverse from the usual house sound, they like to call it 'Cross over potential'. They have just named the first release for the new label with a track by Mike MD featuring the vocals of Romy Lynn called 'Gotta Get Down' which will feature a remix from Gabriel Vezzola and Simon Gain. The track is already high up on the DMC Miami Buzz charts and promotional mail outs have been sent to a select army of DJ's so expect to here this one out on the road.
SECOND VOLUME OF DANCE THERAPY
The Dance Therapy compilations are one for those who love their old classics and Flashover are about to unleash the second volume. This edition brings together digitally restored versions of some of Ferry's best records with System F's Dance Valley Theme 2001 and an old alias of Ferry called Eon with the track 'Pocket Damage'. That track I can remember him playing back in 2002 at the sizzling Ibiza club night Judgement Sundays in Eden. It never got officially released so now is your chance to grab it. Ten records fill in the bundle with tracks from Breakfast, DJ Preach, Lemon & Einar K and Transa.
The second edition is available right now from the i:Vibes record store!
LATEST RELEASES
Here is a quick rundown of the latest records out right now on the Label.
Rafael Frost - Boomerang Flashover Recordings OUT NOW!
The follow up to Rafael's very successful 'Red' record, which is still doing the rounds at the moment featuring a slamming remix by Ferry himself. The follow up 'Boomerang' should cause more chaos on the dance floor with a big main lead that should rip right through you. Armin, Marco V and Jon O'Bir have been playing this one over the past few weeks.
Tritional - Cloudbase Levare Recordings Release Date: 29th June
Another follow up this time from Tritional after their quite sublime 'Piercing Quiet' release that had that catchy vocal flavour stitched in. 'Cloudbase' is another dose of epic trance that should be blowing up over the coming summer season with support from Alex M.O.R.P.H., John O Callaghan and Dave Dresden.
Massimo Santucci & Danile Green - Strings Of Cesar Boom Tasjak Release Date: 6th July
Roger Sanchez has been slipping this one into his radio show for the past few weeks and the full release will come with remixes from Peter Brown, DJ Pearl and DJ Slider.
FORTHCOMING ON FLASHOVER
You should expect to see a new track by Breakfast which the Label is saying will be one of the biggest records to be released this summer. Quite a bold claim but it will be out in July or the beginning of August but as yet no title has been released. Breakfast never fails to disappoint though so I expect it to live up to the hype.
There will be some peak time trance action coming on Flashover with a collaboration between Michael Jay Parker and Dominik De Leon on a track called 'Monostep'. This should be dropping come the end of July.
Finally a new record on Levare Recordings with the long awaited return of Airbourne Angel with the track 'Aviate'. Epic trance should be here in its abundance and the full release will feature two mixes.
