He's come a long way since ensuring supermarket shelves were full stocked has Jon O'Bir. The label he and Rob Stevenson created is about to pop out a double compilation with Jon being the commander at the helm...
It's been a wild ride for Jon O'Bir since he won a DJ competition back in 2002 which led him to a residency at the world famous Godskitchen club in Birmingham. His DJ career has took off like a drag car and continues to gather pace playing at all the biggest Trance clubs across the UK and the globe. It's hard to imagine him working behind the hustle and bustle of a supermarket checkout but that’s what he used to do to pay the bills for his music. He has been getting better as a producer, with a little help from his friends and the fruits of his labour came through with his debut album 'From Within' which got a release on the legendary Vandit label.
It was 2005 when Jon and Rob Stevenson (Otherwise known as Activa) set up their own label Conspiracy Recordings. Since then the label has had over 30 releases and featured the likes of Tom Colontonio, Underwater, Dan Stone, Peter Martijn, Activa and Jon O'bir with records played over the airwaves in every major Trance radio show you can think off. The label has enabled producers to get their music noticed and onto the bigger labels for future success and I'm sure more new talents will emerge in the future.
'Introspection' is the name of the label's debut compilation release and although it may remind you of a very well produced John Askew Track this double disc treat is looking like one to enjoy. Mixed and compiled by Jon O'Bir from his finest record crop you can expect to find no weeds in here just quality trance music. The compilation is a showcase of the musical skills that the artists involved with Conspiracy have to offer and you can expect a very smooth mix by Jon himself.
