Pete Tong's second helping of his Wonderland compilation series has just hit the stores with a selection of this season's essential cuts...
This year will be the second season for Pete Tong in his new home, Eden in Ibiza. He had been a resident at Pacha for years but decided the time was right for a change of scene with Pacha introducing a raft of changes to their talent line-up for last year. Eden is now one of the biggest clubs on the Island after its recent refurbishment to bring the club right up to the cutting edge of club technology. If you’re over in Ibiza this summer you can catch Pete and his 'Wonderland' nights at the club every Friday with a selection of special guests popping in to play a few sets.
It's strange to imagine a dance scene without Pete Tong as he's a guy who has been involved in the scene for well over two decades and there not much he's not seen music wise over those years. He has seen the evolution of electronic dance music and boom and bust of different genres over the years but Pete has always managed to stay on the frontline. It's no surprise as his phonebook reads like a festival line-up with him having played with every big name DJ you could name off the top of your head. He even had a film named after him with 'It's All Gone Pete Tong' that hit the cinemas back in 2006 to huge success.
One thing that definitely has not all gone Pete Tong is his Wonderland compilation series which brings the latest house orientated gems that will be pumping through speaker cones this summer to compact disc. That's those little round silver things for those of you into the digital. Last year's compilation was very good and this year's looks even better with a generous littering of exclusive new tracks and re-works of timeless classics. It may well be the sound of the summer and for those who like their House its an essential selection!
