Another new rising star on the Trance scene is a guy who goes by the name of Redd Square. This is his thrid release so far and number thirty one for the Monster label. It's easy to see why he's causing a stir with his productions with this latest gem...
I say he goes by the name of Redd Sqaure but you will know him more for his production work under the Insignia aliases which made its debut on Five AM with 'Kaleidoscope Eyes', a record that sliced very neatly into the playlists of all the big Trance jocks. The man behind it all is a guy who hails from Bristol here in the UK. Chris Dececio is the man behind both projects and he brings us this latest smash 'Digital Acoustics'.
:: Original Mix :: Onova Remix
This is the first record I've heard from Redd Sqaure (The alises anyway) but with the quality Monster have been putting out in recent releases it's sure not to disappoint. The Original Mix is where the fun starts and it’s a beautiful piece of music from start to finish. It’s got something tough about it from the word go with deep punchy beat and very impacting kick that gives you the slap to wake yourself up for whets to come. The build up here has a little deep gritty flavour about it with a cool leading riff that’s gets you hooked into the track. With little warring things all begin to ease off and the acoustic uplift ness that the main break in this track has starts to play in. Plenty of sweeping aromatic sounds kick things off and soon implement of gorgeous guitar filtered string that sneakily changes into a full on main synth driven melody. The key changes in here are right on time and its uplifting as hell. It's a track with two personalities as dare I say its even funky on the lead and trail off but in the midst of all this blends in one of the most euphoric melodies I've heard for a while.
The Onova Mix is where the magic of the original gets put into a flowing uplifting Trance wand and from the first beat you get a feeling something big is about to erupt within this. Things begin pretty simply enough with a firm beat and small trickles or percussion floating around. Leading up on the track comes a nice settling series of stuttered bars in the background while an echo'd short vocal with that 'Andy Moor' style of sound slithering in and fades out. Those bars lead into the main string that’s starts to build up to the main breakdown. Everything cuts to a stop and the main melody starts to build up. It's a real epic hidden in here with sweeping layers of sound feeding in a gorgeous main chord that’s as uplifting as they come. The chord morphs into the main melody that keeps building and building with a panning drum build to set it alight. The main meat in here really does focus of sweeping acoustic patterns as the title suggests but the impact when it all fits in together is breathtaking.
Conclusion:
This is the first production I've head from Mr Redd Square but its impressed me no end. Super melodic trance with added punch backed up by an energy injectioed remix from Onova, one to get your hands on.
