The debut compilation album from Conspriacy Recordings is not so much a mix of new tracks but a highlight of why they are such a good label. Add into the blend of fantastic records label boss Jon O'Bir mixing them together...
The rise of Jon O’Bir has been quite astonishing although not overly surprising. It was a DJ competition that gave him the opportunity to play at one of the best club nights In the UK for Godskitchen and the rest is history, he’s not one of the big names in Trance. Being a DJ is just not enough though in such a highly competitive market with so many spinners out there so it was not ling before Jon broke into producing with the bubble of his career so far being a debut artist album on the Vandit label. The next step is to set your own label up and here we have it. Conspiracy Recordings was born back in 2005 with his partner in crime being another promising UK DJ talent know to us as Activa, but close family as Rob Stevenson. His fast flowing driving melodic trance goes well with Jon’s and with four pairs of ears picking out upcoming records for release on the label your sure to see no lemons on the release schedule. This debut album then is the very best, the very current and the forthcoming future of what to expect from Conspiracy.

Right from the first glance of the tracklist you know what’s coming inside the two action packed mixes. Nothing but pure Trance from some of the scene’s little know producers as Conspiracy is good label for feeding new, undiscovered talent into the scene. Naturally, you will find some big named tracks in here to balance things out. The mixture between the two once you’ve got this compilation playing is unnoticeable as the quality of tracks in here is simply orgasm inducing. It’s right from the start of the first disc that the quality that’s been streaming through the label is very evident. Frank Savio’s ‘Central Sate’ is very fitting to open up the mix with its chord driven metallic melody that pulls you in. It was the first record Frank had on the label, who as the name does not suggest come s from Germany, I thought with a second name like that he’d be Italian or Spanish. It sets the theme for the rest of the mix with a collection of euphoric epics, one following the other. The highlights I’d pick out on the first disc would be the stabby ‘Perception’ by Activa and beautiful harmony of ‘Sparkles’ by Niklas Grosswald.
The second disc just does more to impress you with each passing track. Things start off a little less frantic but heat up to a sizzling finale. Not only is there a great example of the original work by artist signed by the label they have thrown in some of the pick of the remixes from a few releases. Stoneface & Terminal really do their reputation no harm with a superb remix of Mike Emery’s Vapour Trails, he’s no relation to a well know producer who goes by the first name of Gareth before you wonder. That’s not the only track form him that’s in their in remix form as John Askew’s mix of ‘Falling Into The Sun’ is in there towards the end of the mix. It’s a very traditional remix from Askew as its got that early production sound about it if you’ve had the pleasure of some of his earlier works. It’s a sound that DJ Ange puts a little into his uplifting ‘The Last Testament’ record. The working of the melody strings pop off right on the button and every element in the track works together to create the mood. Not forgetting of course the backbone of a thunderous beat.
Both the two CD’s have a logical flow and tempo to them which you would expect from a DJ like Jon O’Bir who has placed together the selection in superb flowing order, its not just a collection banged together without any thought. It is however a collection of very fine Trance and an example of the great music being published through the Conspiracy label who are not afraid to give the new producer a chance with plenty of fresh faces mixed in here.
Conclusion:
What we have here is a quite outstanding compilation from Conspiracy and not a bad way to kick off their compilation series. If you have only heard a handful of tracks from the label, which I must admit I have until now, then this fill in with what you've been missing over the past thirty releases on Conspiracy. An essential buy which should see you playing well into the chilly winter season!
